The grandparents from the girls (their father's parents) celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary yesterday.
They got a visit from the mayor (with flowers and a present) and the local priest, the county council equivalent sent their congratulations and the Home Secretary for the state also sent his best wishes with a personally signed letter...
They pull out all the stops here.
We gave them a traditional German beach chair (Strandkorb).

I read something that referred to it as the "boobs and dragons show" which made me titter...do I need to explain?

At least he had one masterpiece to his name: Lifeforce. Just kidding. Also, Salem's Lot was good.

I think that when people think about this guy, they forget about Salem's Lot (or simply aren't aware that he directed it). The creepy kid at the window with that scraping/tapping sound freaked me out when I was younger. To be fair, I was probably way too young to see it when I first did. Mark

Hey all, I'm looking for something I haven't been able to find yet, so I'm asking for a bit of help. Wanted, a non-smartphone without a built-in camera. Long story short, my brother is in long-stay hospital and has been told he can have a phone with the above feature set missing. Ideally would need to be SIM free.
Thanks in advance.

WTF? How are they albe to dictate crap like that? Sure if phone signals interfere with equipment, then no phones. But a phone signal is a phone signal. Who are they to say it can't be a smart phone?

TBF it's very much a case of "their hospital, their rules". The camera thing might be to avoid invasion of privacy issues eg taking photos of other patients/staff without their consent.

My brother had a stay in hospital recently and while the wards had signs up saying no photography they didn't have a problem with him having his smart phone with him. There were folk with iPads and laptops about as well.
No photography is fair enough but banning phones with cameras etc seems rather extreme.

Same here. Smart phone at the very least. Preferably a laptop with a 4G dongle.

Thanks everyone, he ended up doing his own thing and getting a Doro 5030. Good luck to him.

Having mainly been a Mac user for the majority of my computing life the prospect of fiddling round inside a PC didn't exactly fill me with dread but I must confess a degree of apprehension over the job I've just done.
I've just installed a CRU Dataport DP10 drive cage into a 5.25" bay. All worked but good grief is that fiddly. I'm glad I didn't manage to static shock anything (as far as I can tell at any rate). Backup currently running to the DP10 which I will be able to then pull out and take off site.
While I was doing stuff I also flashed the motherboard bios to the latest (and most likely final) version, this being a Z97 board. That was an interesting experience. I'm glad I'd watched a video on YouTube about it so I had some idea what sort of sequence it would go through.
