Yet another Brexit promise (that trade deals with Europe didn't matter so much because the commonwealth nations would be happy to trade with us without preconditions) goes up in a puff of smoke..

We've never been weaker and everyone knows it. We'll be lucky if someone like Trump lets us sniff a trump at this rate.

Well, shouting about 'putting America first' at your inauguration ceremony doesn't suggest he's interested in giving foreign nations balanced trading agreements, does it?

You're just a naysayer. You need to concenrtrate on all the opportunities Brexit will present to us. OK, nobody seems to be able to name any of them right now, but a lots of people are very sure they'll make up for pissing off our biggest trading partner and chucking our currency in the toilet.

Britons living in the EU may be forced to returnThe problem with this 'send the foreigners home' mullarky is it leaves you without a moral leg to stand on when someone else does it to you. As an example, there are over 300,000 Britons currently living in Spain who will lose the right to do so when we leave the EU. 103,000 of those are pensioners, most of whom probably have what is euphemistically described as 'complex medical needs' who will probably not be helped by living in the damp, somewhat cold UK rather than the warm, sunny climes of southern Europe. The NHS & social care services obviously have the capacity to have 100,000 extra old people dumped on them, I mean, that's not going to cause any problems at all.

That is what I have been saying all along.
As many people that come to the UK, a large number of Brits leave the UK to live elsewhere in the EU, whether it be out of choice, work, love, whatever. In my case all three. Luckily, I am married to a German and I should be able to get German citizenship, so I won't be forced back to the UK. But an awful lot of ex-pats might not have those options - in Germany, if you want to be a citizen, you have to be in full time employment to apply. If Spain is similar (and it has its own social problems, with high unemployment), it won't be easy for the pensioners to get citizenship and stay.
There are going to be an awful lot of p'ed off Brits being unwillingly repatriated. And, as you say, they will probably be a huge burden on the health and social services.
