Despite a few golden moments I was nonplussed with Hail Caesar. Despite a wildly enthusiastic Kermodian review, it wasn't really all that good. But "would that it were so" is a proper cry/laugh.

The Lobster is now on Netflix. Excellent. I'll be watching it this weekend.

I really enjoyed The Lobster.
The entire premise is a bit messed-up, but so what? Once you're into the film, just go with it and it's great.
Of course, this is just my opinion, YMMV.

Deadpool

What utter drivel. I am never watching anything remotely superhero ever again.

Think someone on here said it was funny. It wasn't

You'll be on a rig somewhere, totally not expecting the world's geekiest coup...

My wife and I have watched Deadpool at least 4 time and we agree that we found it as funny the fourth time as we did the first.

That's very funny, by the way... just to clear up any confusion!

+1, I've seen it at least three times. It's great!

Doubt it. I'm out of a job again on Wednesday. I've just got a temp contract for this well, then that it. I doubt I'll be back here again.

Finding Dorey
Usual Pixar fare here but, as with a lot of things, not as good as the original. Plus they seem to have gone out of their way to try and get people to cry with this film (which Ellen has kind of admitted in the interview she did on Radio 1). If my mum goes to see it she'll need a box of tissues with her.

It has its moments and the animation is as impressive as you'd expect but I didn't find it as good as Nemo. If anything I thought the animation work on the traditional Pixar short at the start was vastly more impressive but then they had to maintain the look and feel of the first film so I guess that's not necessarily a surprise.

Overall 6/10, good but not quite up to the same standard as Finding Nemo.

Eden Lake - 6.5/10 - Usual predictable thriller, go to the woods to camp as a couple and getting hunted down by the bad guy; in this case a group of angry teens which is a nice change. Few intense scenes, much of what you'd expect, better than I expected and the half a point was for it being an English film. If these are your type of films then it's worth a watch.

Bastille Day - 6/10 As above, stereotypical action type film, reasonable acting, some storyline, felt it had been cut down a bit too much in places. Enjoyable enough to make us watch to the end.

Jungle Book - 7/10 I enjoyed it more than my partner who felt it was lacking something. I'll leave it up to you - you already know if you're going to watch it!
