Get nostalgic with the Noughties!

I'm not even that nostalgic about the 90s, never mind the somewhat cultural failure just gone by!

80s day at work. Side pony tails, braces, TopGun T shirts and me in an 80s style mesh top. We're rocking it :)

That ISPs shouldn't be allowed to portray buffering issues as a speed problem to sell you a faster connection

A horse show. Or, rather, a friend or two of the wife and their friends gathering in a field with their horses and doing “jumping” and “dressage” (I imagine that it will be a bit amateurish). The thing is that somewhere along the way, I’ve been volunteered to be the photographer. I’m getting instructions relayed to me via my wife, but not actually had any contact from the people supposedly running the thing. So somewhen this week, I’ve got to run through my DSLR kit and see what I need to take. Make sure that I have the CF cards, pack the laptop so I can store pictures if the cards fill up, etc..

I can’t say that I relish spending a day in a field either in (what I expect will be) the cold. Oh, yeah - it’s a bring your own food day too, etc..

Turns out today that the answer to that is no. We both though that I'd be able to sell prints in some form - but tonight my wife's friend says that they don't want to charge for photos. So that's that. I'm not doing it - and my wife agrees with my decision in this (she's not impressed by this either).

So no fee for the days work and give the photos away for free? Sounds like an offer you can't refuse!

From all you've said, that's definitely the right decision.

Boardmasters festival are soliciting for 'Volunteer Photographers' this year to cover the event.
No indication so far about who retains copyright.
Clicking through to their survey monkey page, we're told "You could get entry to Boardmasters, food all weekend, your images used throughout 2015/2016 with the likelihood of being picked up by national media and so much more!"
But not paid, apparently.

Thunderbolt 3 is using the same port as USB C.
