I barely remember a thing about the original, so I imagine it was just passable.

It looked acceptable. Slightly different premise, but massive potential for sequels now that the city of Detroit is really bust and as much of a war zone as the film. Not sure if they could pay the film crew enough to film there unless protected by ED-209's?

The trailer doesn't look as bad as I expected. The voice is too high pitched IMO. The silver versions of the suit look much better. For some reason in the original Robocop, Murphy's face looked like the skin had been stretched or something. It gave the appearance of man fixed to machine. This just looks like a guy in a suit.

Yes the one hand as well, which will be a plot driver at one point when someone tortures him for revenge.

The original RoboCop idea was that Murphy was dead, so they were effectively altering the cadaver to fit the machine they already had. From the trailer, it seems that the reverse is true.

It will be interesting to see what hey do with it. The notion that the suit effectively makes Murphy believe that he's in control is one that appeals. In the original, Murphy was being used as an organic processor for decision making. Again, this has been reversed.

I hope it's not a road accident of a film and all the good bits are in the trailer. I noticed Bruce Wayne showing his face again.
