IMO Agent Coulson seemed to have the most character of any of the Marvels films. I liked him.

Cool dude in his own way. And I liked this exchange he was a part of

Agent Phil Coulson: [via phone] Mr Stark, we need to talk.
Tony Stark: You have reached the life model decoy of Tony Stark, please leave a message.
Agent Phil Coulson: This is urgent.
Tony Stark: Then leave it urgently.
[Coulson enters Stark's penthouse, hanging up his cellphone]
Tony Stark: Security breach.
Tony Stark: [to Pepper] That's on you.
Agent Phil Coulson: Mr Stark.
Pepper Potts: Phil! Come in.
Tony Stark: "Phil?" Uh, his first name is "Agent."

I'm trying to decide whether this is a montage of all the most badly-written lines of dialogue in history, or whether it's a trailer for Keanu Reeve's latest film...47 Ronin - http://www.imdb.com/rg/s/1/title/tt1335 ... 1020438809

I'm particularly averse to clunky dialogue, so I thought it was just me!

It's a pretty basic and crap comic tbh.

My favourite was "mountains of corpses will not stand in our way".

Apart from the awkward alliteration, of course they're not going to stand in your way, they are corpses, unless it's The Walking Dead.

"mountains of corpses" is alliterative, and it's horrible-sounding, hence awkward.

Eddie Murphy to star in Beverly Hills Cop 4

I've a feeling the show was a better idea - what are the chances of this recapturing the old magic? :(

Mountains
of
corpses
isn't alliterative. Metaphoric, yes. Hyperbolic, yes. Actually alliterative? No. Alliteration is the repetition of initial sounds in words.

It doesn't have to be the initial letter of words, it is the stressed sounds you make;

"Peter Piper Picked a Peck of Pickled Peppers" is but an obvious example.

Mountains of Corpses are fountains of sauces in pound tins and courses. I was just pointing out that if you were to write something as ear-bleedingly awful as "mountains of corpses" any half decent writer would notice the jarring repetition of the s sound and re-write it, unless they wanted to write a tongue twister ;)

Isn't that sibilance, rather than alliteration?
