Morning all.

Off to London to meet youngest brother before he jets of to South America for 3 and a bit months  . He's been abroad before but never to somewhere quite this exciting.
Anywho, at least it looks like we'll have decent weather (if a little cold).

Have a great day folks.

Good luck Hev, let us know how it goes :)

I didn't get the gig. I got a nice rejection email, quite quickly (as was promised as they were looking for someone to fill a contract vacancy very quickly). Basically, while I impressed them with my l33t skillz, I didn't have just the right amount of actual experience in the packaging field.

Hey-ho.

I'm off to see the quack today, to sort out what's happing with my bones. It's not serious, just a switch from private to NHS health care. Same consultant, probably the same densitometry lady, same drug regime.

I'm looking forward to next week now. Tuesday morning I'm completing some much-needed photography for the web site saga, then I'm heading down to Dorset to photography a model railway for someone. Expenses paid, and a chance to catch up with the parents again.

Onwards and sideways.

Went to Aida Cruises Night of the Proms last night, mixture of classic music and pop music.

The classical music was generally very good, but too bass heavy. Why do producers feel they have to ruin all music today by putting in too much bass?

Naturally 7 were ok, but nothing special (beatboxers)

Anastasia was ok, much better than the last time I saw her in Munich (there, she had to fans on stage to sing with her, and they were much better than she was, very embarrassing).

John Miles was excellent and Anastasia managed to not totally destroy the duet they sang together.

The "instrument of the year" was the harp and they had a couple of great virtuoso harp players.

Finally, there was Mick Hucknall from Simply Red, he was in a class of his own, I was surprised, I liked Simply Red music when I was younger, but never though much of Mr Hucknall, but on stage he is electrifying. Well worth the ticket price just for his appearance. He was also my mother's favourite artist (earlier it was Rod Stewart, but she turned into a Simply Red fan later on) and his performance of Stars brought tears to my eyes, really amazing.

Abtanzball last night (school children aged 15 have to learn to dance (with a professional dance coach) and when the course is over, they have a ball, where they dance and the parents watch and get to dance with their children.

My gf's goddaughter had her ball last night. It was great fun.

Her school used the same dance academy that we visit (Hull in Osnabrück), which is run by multi-world champion (over 20 word champion and world cup titles, his parents come from England and taught Her Maj. to dance).

He and his events team laid on a show, with the pupils dancing, then different Hull projects doing demonstrations of hip-hop, breakdance, jump, Dirty Dancing etc. They even had a flash mob with all pupils dancing Gangnam Style... :? (incidentally, BMG and GEMA have pulled down all copies of the video from YouTube in Germany)

We got to dance as well, but only Discofox, as that is the most common dance style...

Morning all.

Another bright cold one by the looks of it. No hangover to speak of yet (or it hasn't materialised yet).
Good to see youngest brother yesterday before he gallivanting off to Argentina to start his South American adventure.

Anywho, time to order the parents wedding anniversary present and cross fingers that it arrives on time.

Have a great day folks.

Morning all.

First day of new working pattern today, been moved to 9-5 from evening shifts. Got an early night last night to accommodate the change but just woke up early instead.

It's going to be a long day! :|

Morning all.

Darwin ran out of fuel last night. Mate gave me a lift to get some more to get her started. Dropped a full 5-gallon jerry can onto an old hub. With my fingernail between the two. Fingernail now mostly black but hurts less than last night, although still can't type with it. Damn.

Also still no idea where my gloves are, and there's no way in hell I'm stealing Stephs' neoprene kyaking gloves today with my finger in the state that it is. Looks like it's going to be a cold drive into work today. :(

Ho hum. Tea, and into the rubbish they call 'sensible office wear'.

Morning.

I slept well until about 3.30. At that point, Penny-puss decided to throw up, and then poop everywhere.

An hour later, she repeated the game. At that point I thought I may as well stay awake, get up and do stuff. Only I didn't. I went back to snooze mode, and now I feel like crap.

Gonna be a long hard day.

Onwards and sideways.

Morning all.

I've somehow managed to catch a cold from the guy in the office even though I was hardly in the office last week.
I'm assuming I got it via email then.

Morning

Tired today. Body clock was fully aware that I had to get up for work today and woke me up 5 minutes before the alarm went off.
