Hi all,

I'm redesigning my website ( http://hashbang0.com/hashbang0/ ), and I want some advise on several aspects.

Firstly, I want to add a 'sidebar' to the left of the main content, I'd use a floating div for this I presume?

Secondly, I have a problem with resizing the little window, what I would like to happen is that it can be as big as one would like, but it has to be at least X big, is that possible? If it is I would guess that the right side would fall off the window...The other desirable effect would be when a div gets X small, it starts to scroll, but I'd prefer the first effect...

That's it for now I think,

Thanks,
Ben

Yep, a floating div should work for the first.

In the CSS for the window, set the minimum X width, then set its actual width to be a percentage, it should then adjust its width, but not go below the minimum width.

For scrolling, again, set the div's scroll mode to automatic.

I thought IE6 (and possibly IE7) don't support the minimum-width function?

I presume if they don't, as a browser is resized, it will all just squish up as it does now?

And Dave, thank you very much for your reply :)

IE7 should recognise it.

IE6 - the user is at fault

Any parameters which aren't recognised will be ignored, so yes, it should work like it does now.
