Ever since updating to Snow Leopard I have had constant problems with my torrent client of choice, Transmission.

I have it set to watch my Downloads folder and open up torrents automatically and if I just click OK to download them to the Movies folder then it works fine.

If, however, I try to change the destination folder to a sub folder of Movies then the client crashes and I get the warning asking if I want to reopen.

I decided it must be one of the transmission updates. I downloaded Azureus the other day and that does exactly the same thing!

Just tried uTorrent and the same thing happened again.

I have 52GB of files in the folder so I don't know if that's causing the problem?

Any ideas? It's really frustrating!

It sounds like a problem with Snow Leopard. I am glad that I have not upgraded considering the teething problems.

I found a way to fix it for now. Although it may not work for everyone.

I tend to download TV series that I can't watch on TV due to the lack of actually owning one.

I currently have about 6 series on the go.

The problem I was experiencing was when changing the download location to something other than the default so I have set up groups that change the default location based on the name of the file and everything seems to be working again now.

Of course, I have almost filled up all the groups so I'll have to swap and change when there are more series.
