Does anyone have any experience with blocking outgoing calls on Android? (Or Windows Phone)

I have a friend who has a problem and needs to set up their phone, so that they cannot make calls to certain numbers. (No, this isn't drunk dialling, it is due to a medical condition.)

I've found a couple of apps for children's phones to block some numbers, but this is an area where I have little experience and could use some guidance.

Thanks. I had a look, but that doesn't seem to work for outgoing calls, at least not on current phones...

When you say certain numbers, can you give us examples? Is it international numbers? 0800 numbers, (or the German equivalent)?

Parents and relations and other people the person should no longer have contact with. Mobile and landline numbers.

Could they perhaps be blocked at the service provider level rather than software on the phone which, let’s be honest, kids are far better at finding ways to disable than we give them credit for?

It might be possible, but I don't think so, especially as it is a pre-paid phone. I also don't know which provider they currently have.

But I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip.

I really do not want to sound pedantic, (which is quite unusual for me) but seriously? Have you never heard of that amazing invention we refer to as paper? Combine this with a pen or pencil and you have a ready made data backup system, right there!

There is this for android but I've not seen anything like it in Apple app store https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... cker&hl=en

Without knowing the medical condition or reason why not having the numbers on the phone would definitely make it harder to call someone. And you always do sound pedantic

So, I'm pedantic... fair enough. Irrespective of medical conditions, the owner of the phone could write down the numbers, so deleting them would not be effective as a means of rendering those numbers un-callable.

IIRC there are apps that block all outgoing calls except those that are whitelisted.
