So, I've got a CRU DataPort DP10 drive bay in my PC. I've managed to set the BIOS so the drive mounted in the bay shows as removable (it shows up in the Safely remove hardware menu).
Is there a way to get it to show up as an actual external drive? I ask because Windows and my backup software (Acronis) is still treating it as an internal drive. Acronis throws a warning if I use the "whole pc" source option as it thinks I'm trying to backup part of the pc to an internal drive (you don't get the warning with an extrnal USB drive for example).

As it's connected to the internal SATA controller it's going to show as internal.
Easier solution is to spend a tenner on a USB-SATA dock (but you'll lose read/write speed)
