Trying to set up an offsite backup over VPN for my brother-in-law. Looking for a solution that does versioning (protection against encryption malware).
The idea is to put the PC in his office and do the first backup of the NAS, then take it offsite (his home office), open up a VPN connection and carry on with incremental backup from there.
I've found Amanda, Bacula and Bareos so far, but does anyone have a favourite?
I use Carbonite at home, for my personal PC, but it works out expensive for a small business (they have a NAS with 260GB, that would cost around $350 a year). Not much for peace of mind, but as he already has a spare PC and doesn't really trust cloud services, the offsite over VPN looks like the better way to go.
