Chrome Dropping NPAPI Support

It would appear that Google are dropping support for NPAPI type plugings.
From Chrome version 42 (which came out a few days ago it appears) all NPAPI plugins are disabled by default. If you need NPAPI plugins to work see instructions below.
Google will be removing this work around in September 2015.

Enabling NPAPI in Chrome Version 42 and later
As of Chrome Version 42, an additional configuration step is required to continue using NPAPI plugins.

In your URL bar, enter:
chrome://flags/#enable-npapi
Click the Enable link for the Enable NPAPI configuration option.
Click the Relaunch button that now appears at the bottom of the configuration page.


See here for Oracles somewhat grumpy summation of the situation. Anyone would think Google and Oracle were having a falling out or something.
