Mum has upgraded her phone from Samsung galaxy ace 2 to galaxy ace 4. Trying to transfer anything appears to be a complete PITA. Syncing contacts with google account has done bugger all - it tells me they're synced on the Ace 2 but there's nothing in the google account when I look on the PC, and the Ace 4 is synced to the same account.

Tried downloading Samsung Kies which has backed up Ace 2 but now no longer recognises the phone. Kies will work with Ace 2 but not with Ace 4. Kies3 with work with Ace 4 but not Ace 2.

Seriously, WTF?"?!??!

Any advice?

Ace 2 doesn't support NFC. Stupidly Kies backed up everything from Ace 2 but now no longer recognises it! Meanwhile I was able to use Kies3 to transfer stuff from this back up to the Ace 4 but neither contacts nor messages were transferred. The only thing I can see that got transferred is photos.

Contacts can be sent between Samsung devices easily enough over bluetooth.

Not sure about texts though. There used to be a third party application for windows that worked with Sony and Android, but can't remember the name. Maybe My Phone Explorer?
