Post subject:  Add macro to drop down menu items in Word 2003

Hi all,

I need to program a drop down menu in Word 2003 to change the colour of a cell in a table. I can program a button to change the colour of a specified cell, and I can do the same when the drop-down menu looses focus, but I've no idea how to make individual items in the menu to trigger a macro...

If that isn't possible, then a backwards idea would be to set the text, then when the drop down menu looses focus it calles a macro which checks what the colour is, but I don't know how to refer to the menu...

Any ideas?

Thanks very much,
Ben

Stupid Question I know, but does it have to be word? could it be excel? - conditional formatting is there to use.

Yes, I guess it could be Alun.
What I'm doing really shouldn't be done in a word processor or a spreadsheet IMO, but what's all I've got to work with :P

I'll pull the data out ot the Word file and shove it in an Excel file.

Some pointers from there would be good :)

Thanks,
Ben

select teh cell, range of cells you want then, format menu, conditional formatting wizard does it for you from there on.
