Have you done the BT line test thing? Even if you can't here any apparent problems that doesn't mean there isn't a problem on the line.
If there is a fault on the line then an engineer will be sent at no charge to you.

Well, in the end it WAS a problem with BT and is now all fixed.

Then the PC went t*ts up. Yay.
