Hello everyone,

I'm looking to get a third-party router to use with BT broadband.
The history here is that the BT supplied router keeps randomly restarting, and this happens when I'm working, so it's not good.
It's a known issue with BT supplied routers, apparently.

So I'm looking for a not-too-expensive replacement. I have my own wireless hub that plugs into the BT one, so wireless capability on the replacement isn't a requirement.
Apparently it needs to be a VDSL modem/router, and not just a router.

Does anyone here have their own router on BT setup?

Mark

Hiya man,

I'm using an Apple Airport Extreme for my wireless, so as long as there's an ethernet port on the router that the Airport basestation can plug into, I should be good.

Update …
I ended up getting one of these and it's done the job just perfectly.
I don't know why BT insists in having the HomeHub restart automatically, without a user preference to turn that off, but for me it's no longer an issue (and I still have the HomeHub if this router ever goes down).
