It's only June 1st and it's already too hot for me to get a decent nights sleep. I'm on top of the covers already, I'm screwed when it comes to July/August. :(

Most of my weekend was sleepless...
Doesn't help with having a couple of computers on the go during the day either...

Was way too hot last night.

Didn't get to sleep until about 2 or 3 (I was lying in bed from about 11:30)

Glad to see there are fellow suffers (in the fact Im not the only one that suffers, not that Im a sadist and want others to suffer as well).
I may be investing in a fan just to keep thje air circulating.

Wasn't too bad here, I think the bedroom was around 20°C over night. Office is already up to 24°C and outside is a lovely 22.4°C - we had 31°C yesterday afternoon.

+1. I was under the duvet too.

When it gets really hot and humid, I usually have a cold/tepid shower and dress lightly before going to bed without any kind of blanket and the fan switched on.

A mixture of both I think. My humidity thingy tells me that it's currently just out of the "comfort zone" and into "humid". It was also 25C inside last night, which is about the upper limit for me (during the day, I usually like it to be about 20C during the day and about 15C at night).

Get a large fan for £20 and point it out of the window, like th rear fan on a PC. If you can leave the door of your room open or another window, that works like an inlet, as long as the rest of your house is a bit cooler. It drags cooler air through the room and expels it out of the window.

Anyone using a fan blwoing in a room should try it blowing out of the window and see how much difference it makes !

Another trick is open your loft hatch if you have one and the hot air can get up there better, cooling the lower floors.

Or you can buy an air conditioner for £120 +

For me, it's not the cost of buying a fan, it's the cost of running it which stops me...

Last year I resorted to buying the ice block things, sticking them in the freezer during the day, then wrapping them in a sandwich bag then in a pillow case and used it as an opposite to a hot water bottle...It worked quite well, I'll have to dig out those blocks...

Plus running costs!

I'm not having a very nice time at the moment. Hayfever has well and truly kicked in, and I'm not sleeping well.

Looks like I'm going to have to get down the GP - the hayfever pills don't seem to be working this year. :x

Apparently, the best way to use a fan on hot nights is to let it blow a breeze across your feet. Don't ask me why, but I tried it and it works.

Another thing, if you have one of those oscillating fans, stop it waggling about so it causes a proper draught pattern to build up in the room. If possible, let it draw in cooler air from somewhere and push it around. If the thing is waving about, it never starts the cooling current properly, and you only feel the benefit when it's directed at you.

A friend had a Toshiba air con fitted in his home office. He hardly uses it any more, that saves him around €400 a month in electricity! The purchase price of a decent air con unit is the smallest part of the equation!

It's been a bit stuffy at my place, but nothing I can't cope with. Despite being a Scotsman, I cope with temperatures of about 30-35 *C fairly comfortably, so the 25*C we've had here doesn't seem too unbearable. Thankfully though, my girlfriend's flat stays very cool on hot days.

I'm loving the warmer weather, it's lovely to have the sun getting me warm right down to my bones :D I can sympathise if you can't deal with the heat though, especially when sleeping. In Montana, at 120F the best trick was to put a wide bowl of cold water behind the fan/fans, it means the air cools as it passes over the water and really helps.
