For the time being I'm sticking with Custom PC and urge everybody else to do the same.
The Custom PC team is the magazines team and the magazine so far hasn't changed (they're actually doing more for us folders), I've got issues with the team name change but that may just be a kneejerk reaction to getting the equivalent of the "you've got 10 minutes to pack your bags and f*ck off" approach DI did to the forums. It's also not James' (Lizard) or Alex's (Sifter) fault the online presence has changed.

If the situation changes in the future (and I hope it doesn't) then I'll consider a team but as we've got got a perfectly good team (who needs all the help we can to stay 5th in the world) we should all stay.

I completely understand. The point about it being the magazine's team is a good one (and makes the name change seem even more awkward). For non-CustomPC people like me, and it's possible I'm the only one, the situation is slightly different - I don't read the magazine and the team forum has now moved to somewhere I don't visit, so I don't really have any connection to it anymore.

I'll continue folding, but for the time being I'll be doing it teamlessly.

You could use the Linux client in a VirtualBox VM. ;)

Actually i believe it will be the other way around, with a merge between the Bit-tech and CPC folding teams, but more like the Bit-tech team moving over to the CustomPC team since they are ranked higher.

Yes, I didn't write that very clearly. What I meant was that I assume most of the old forum 18 people will join the bit-tech forum and stay in the renamed CustomPC team.

I did think about this. I wasn't sure what unnecessary overhead it might bring?
I may post a thread in the open source forum asking some questions...

The Linux client is pretty good. Before the Windows SMP beta client was released, I used to run two Linux installs in VMware each running the SMP client and it used to give me slightly higher points per day than I get now with the native Windows client. You might find that you need to lower the priority of VirtualBox at to stop it adversely affecting the performance of your server though.
