The original isn't quite in the "so bad it's good" category, but it has its moments.

Weren't the originals so low budget that they made a profit as soon as they sold a single copy?

I vaguely remember seeing Lloyd Kaufman (head of Troma Films) on TV as part of a Film (whatever) report from Cannes. He was quite the mouthy but amusing salesman and seemed very good at selling his product on a catchy title and poster. They made their money by selling video distribution rights across the globe as Troma films were very much straight-to-video and most were never screened in cinemas. Sgt. Kabukiman (NYPD) and Chopper Chicks In Zombietown are a couple that I recall but have never seen. The only Troma film I thought was any 'good' was Combat Shock and that wasn't exactly fun to watch.

Maybe the BBC could run a Troma season on one of the channels?
