Okay guys, some advice needed if you have the time! I need to get ripped abs in two weeks for the opera i'm doing. I'm playing the lead, and the director told me today that I might have to take off my top, and she wants ripped abs. The character is a young 21-year-old pirate whom all the girls in the show think are incredibly hot. It's a wonder I got the part in the first place to be honest ^_^ Now i'm by no means overweight and fairly muscly, but due to sprint-training and rugby (winger) most of my muscle-weight is in my thighs. Broad-ish shoulders and average biceps (they are quite bulging but when poked don't give off the impression that they are at all muscly! They're like water balooooooons!). However my belly is pleasantly soft, due to student lifestyle. I reckon it can be done, but I need a regime! Googling brings up all sorts, but I need advice from an actual person who's done something like this. I'm aware of stuff like - no fat, lots of cardio etc. But an actual regime... I've got advice from some friends already, but they seem to be in slight disagreement with the ACTUAL regime. And none of them are ripped at all >.< Anyone have any experience? I remember a while back some guys here went on some sort of army fitness program? |

It was ojfoggin who did the army training scheme I believe. If you're at a gym at all I would suggest talking to one of the instructors there. For competitions, most body builders haven't eaten in something like 2 weeks if memory serves, but not sure what good that's going to do the singing ability ![]() |

You want [LIFTED] loads of protein, no simple carbs and a ton of sit ups. If you don't eat right, no amount of exercise will help you in that time frame. In fact, I think you'll find it very difficult anyway. Muscle definition in a specific area is harder to achieve than just overall tone. |

Selected areas spray tan or make up will make it look better than what you have now. Less painful and quicker. |

Yep, I was doing this and almost got there. Protein, no carbs in the evening, exercise, 5 or 6 small meals a day. If you already have the muscle then the main thing is dropping the fat. Your best bet would be to go half way and use makeup to get the rest IMO. |

Frankly, in two weeks, I'm not sure if you'd get that washerboard stomach you're after. And I think your director's being unrealistic asking for that. I'd have a word with the make up people - as other's have said. Some people train for years and never get that sort of definition. That said, I'd agree with what the others are saying. There are plenty of crazy diets to follow - some of the more notorious popular ones are the 300 diet or the regime Hugh Jackman followed for Wolverine. Not for the faint hearted mind. |

Lets have pic of the abs as they are now. Then we can say how realistic it might be to have them "ripped" in two weeks. ![]() |

Lol, how did you know I was chinese?! Good hit with the Bruce Lee pic! I know i'm not going to get ripped, but a bit flatter would be nice. I've got pretty much naked for shows without having a fantastic body so not too fussed, but for realism i've got to have something redeeming about me >.< I might try a crazy diet. In truth I put on chub and drop it pretty quickly, and after the easter break (yup, chocolate) i've gained noticeable weight. I think the director just wants me back how I was before easter, and she assumed I had a fantastic body under my clothes! Oh how wrong she was... This evening i've had chicken with cous-cous and hoi-sin sauce. I was a bit too late checking here before I ate the cous-cous but i'll have a proper start tomorrow when I can buy the right kind of foods! Annoyingly ate WAY too much and felt super-fat afterwards, so decided to do some exercise. I'll keep you updated - tonight i've done 90situps and 30 pressups (not very good at pressups, as i've said the muscle LOOKS like it's there but really isn't) Oh and linked are a few pics of my current state (post dinner and situps). Not for the faint hearted, so i'm linking not embedding. In truth it's a bit weird posting pics of my body on a forum, but it's in the name of art dammit! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/ ... kk, you're a little bit off where I am. 2 weeks of a crazy protein diet (don't go too crazy though) think carbs in the morning and reduce carbs and replace with protein through the day in small but high number of meals. Also might be worth getting a protein shake powder to replace the mid morning and mid afternoon meal. You will have something noticeable in 2 weeks. |

I'm kinda curious to see how you go over the next two weeks. I keep having adverts on facebook telling me how to get 'ripped abs in 6 weeks'... maybe you could start your own program if you're successful. ![]() |

HA! I fully expect to get my tummy back probably at the aftershow party! I'm built for comfort, not for speed... (Okay it's an analogy that I use for my car, but I think it can apply here too). I like hugs and chocolate too much to bother with keeping toned =D Just so I know --> Fruit and nuts okay? |
