Star Trek : Discovery. I've finished the first season, has anyone else?

No, I got bored and lost interest after seven or eight episodes.

That's a shame. It really picks up in the second half of the season.

I've now watched all of the episodes. Not bad (the Clem Fandango problem notwithstanding) but to me it all felt hurried at the end, The last episode in particular was rushed, and the ultimate end was very obvious even if the fine detail of how they got there wasn't.

Saw five or six episodes of the new Star Trek, then gave up.
Not because I didn't like it, but because I didn't have the time to watch it regularly.

I really enjoyed the show overall.
I couldn't really watch it as a Star Trek show though, because Discovery, to me, just isn't about being a Trek show. As a generic space based sci-fi show, yeah, it's good, but I share your issues with pacing, especially in that final episode.

The whole thing had a feeling of being rushed to me, which is a bit ironic considering all the push-backs the series had before it even started screening.

If you can drag yourself away from sic-fi Startup!

I know none of you will so this is a waste of typing

I watched the first two episodes of Startup and couldn't see what all the fuss was about.

There's plenty of great TV that isn't Scifi based.

The Americans - currently on it's 6th and final season in the US but has been compelling viewing throughout.

Halt And Catch Fire - now finished so you can binge through all the episodes.

And if you can cope with subtitles try "Black Spot" which can best be described as a French take on Twin Peaks. Hopefully there's going to be a second season as the first ended on a bit of a cliff-hanger.

All of these are on Amazon Prime.

You can't judge a series by 2 episodes

There's also Babylon 5 on Pick TV (but it's the same time as SeaQuest).

As 'Babylon 5' had been said quite a few times in this thread I took the risk in just saying 'Babylon' thinking that people will still know what I'm talking about

As I said weird...
