Missed it, but intend to watch on Catch up. Maybe one for Wednesday night, when I'm in London. Bored and alone in the hotel. *sob*

Yep. I've seen it, and really enjoyed it.
The only thing I have to say against it was that it looked like it was lit for TV, by that I mean it looked a little flat. All the ingredients were there, the script worked, the direction and production we fine and the cast did a great job but the lighting left the whole thing looking a little flat, which is a shame really.

It's been so long since I read any PKD that I wasn't sure if I'd read the story the first ep was based on.
Paranoia is so pervasive in his work it was really difficult to decipher it from any number of his stories.
I suspect that after this run of shows I'll try and revisit his works.

Just watched the first two episodes of The Orville.

I'll give it a few more episodes, but I reckon it's a prime candidate for mid-season cancellation. It's like a poor quality sitcom, in space.

I got the impression that was what they going for. Plus Seth McFarlane is used to his shows getting cancelled.

Out of interest, which channel is it on?

I saw it online, but it's either on or coming to Fox UK

I actually thought it was on Fox the other day, given the Twitter chatter from some people, but it turns out the usual diet of NCIS was running. All day.

Yeah, the chatter was about the fact that Fox UK had picked the show and it was expected to air very quickly. It isn't even listed on the Fox UK site yet - well, it wasn't a couple of days back.

Looks like Pick TV will be showing Babylon 5 weeknights, 8pm from the 13th of November.
Think that’ll be the first time it’s been repeated on terrestrial for years. Be interesting to see how they’ve handled it because some bits of the dvds look god awful on a widescreen hd tv.

But in any case, yay, b5 back on the telly :D

The reason for the awfulness is because all the CGI was done for 4:3 NTSC. That includes CGI added to live action sequences. So you’ll get good quality picture, a gun shot (in crap-o-vision) and then back to better quality images. These sequences were scaled up to match the “normal” pictures, which were shot in 16:9.

As far as I am aware, there isn’t any Star Trek: TNG like restoration. If there was, you can bet a more up market channel would be showing it ;-)

Quote:
“Walking Dead” Ratings Keep Sinking
With the first half of the eighth season of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” over, the news is only bad for the zombie drama as the recent batch of episodes averaged a 3.9 and 8.7 million viewers per episode – a major drop from the 5.7 and 12.1 million viewers per episode average of the previous season’s first half.

I think you had to be really awake, taking notes, or binge watch this first half of season 8 to keep up. It was hard work at times, all those threads from flash-backs, simultaneous stuff going on, etc.. If they keep this up, people will just give up on it.

Almost finished Mr Robot S3 and after a shaky start I've really, really, enjoyed it.
