Got another Hot Wheels Batman pack and a £3.50 BvS pack (nothing to do with the film thank F).

Took a notion for a Flake McFlurry despite not having anything like that for months... Brilliantly, as it turned out, it was stinking. Lesson learned.

Used some Tesco vouchers and bought 1l Absolut that was on sale for £20.

And my movie TMNT figures arrived, plus two extra I wasn't charged for.

It's been a very good day! Btw, Tesco has a Lego sale on if that's your thing or you need a present.

My 2011 laptop connects to the 2.4GHz signal so I've bought a Netgear A6100 USB adapter. Now I can use the 5GHz signal. I really should upgrade the laptop but I struggle to justify the cost, especially since it does everything I need (these days that's typically editing in Lightroom and working on work related stuff via MS Office). I use my phone for pretty much everything. Even my iPad sits unused these days.

Especially if upgrading means Windows 'OMJF that thing's updating!' 10... Use the iPad for comics if that suits, that's all my tablet is ever used for.

Ninja Turtles 2 Blu arrived, cheap as they could produce it (thin case, disc is almost see-through). I'll try it later.

An Amazon seller is trying to rip me off with Lego, 'used, like new'... Arrived with box open and in individual bags! Hopefully get a refund without any nonsense, told them pieces were missing to nullify any real arguments.

Got a smart plug for a fiver, handy when you've a 12 gang extension socket behind the TV... Ordered another two for around the house. Maybe buy a bulb or two down the line.

Got this for free with a Lego order (and some sorta 'charm' Lego mini picture frame :? )

This allows me to convert the second m.2 slot on my ITX motherboard to support a PCIE 8X 10GbE network card.

Max throughput between my server and my PC is just shy of 700MB/s, which is a damned sight better than the poxy ~110MB/s that gigabit ethernet crawls long at.

Got a bunch of mini Transformers for £3 each in B&M (they're ropier than a mountain bridge but they suit my purposes!), some more Hot Wheels including a gold chrome Batmobile (it's so awful it's brilliant), a mountain thieves mini Lego set that I can split up and use amongst my coming together nicely diorama, a £2 'Mecanno' set for the Xmas kids appeal, some WWE figures for my mate, and two smart plugs that were easier to set up than the first, different brand. No more fannying about under shelving and what have you.

If you're into Lego, architecture, sci-fi or even just appreciating effort, you need this (MSE25 before Tuesday gets you a little money off and get it store delivered if possible)

ION, quite bloody annoyed a movie 'God Skeletor' from the States showed up fcuked. The He-man figure isn't so hot either. And Deadpool Back in Black was trash.

Got the new Samsung Galaxy S20+ last week. Not sure about it yet.

It is nice, a bit faster than my old handset, but in general use, hardly noticeable. The main reason for upgrading is security - the security updates on my old phone stopped in December.

The problem is, the antennas seem to be a lot worse than on my old phone. I get one bar on the S20+ and 3 or 4 on my old phone at home, the speeds are therefore affected - the old phone gets around 15mbps, the S20+ under 1mbps! Out and about, it gets a decent signal when the masts are abundant. In edge cases, such as where I live, it seems to be a lot worse.

The second problem is the "under the screen" fingerprint sensor, it works maybe around 25% of the time. My wife has the S10 and that works about 1% of the time. It seems to be very poorly implemented - I am suspecting that it also has something to do with how often we are washing our hands at the moment, due to SAR-CoV-2, but it is a real step backwards from the rear-mounted sensors on our old phones.

I still have another week to decide, whether I keep it or not.
