Post subject:  Annotated bibliography using LaTeX?

Hi all,

I know there are a couple of other LaTeX users on the forum. Does anyone know of a bibtex style which allows me to use the annote field?
I need to create an annotated bibliography as part of my dissertation. I'm using BibDesk to create the Bibtex file (cheating I know, but it's nice and easy this way).

Many thanks,
Ben

A good list of styles can be found here, with examples.

Looking here, though, it appears that annote is not used by any of the standard styles.

Sorry I'm not much more use - I'll consult my bible when I get home...

Edd, thanks, you've been very helpful...I had completely forgotten that I got a LaTeX book out the library...*bangs head against wall*
I shall check in there...

In the mean time, both of your links are very helpful :)

Further digging has found there's a style file linked to from this article, but I've no clue what it looks like. Hacking about with styles is not something I care for too much, so if it's no good I'd suggest looking for one that does work rather than making it fit.

I see nothing but a question on typesetting... (8-p)

I think I shall make do with the supplied style from that link for the time being. When work isn't so pressing I'll research into creating a new style.

Goodo. I'll still consult the book to check, but it seems we have ourselves a solution!

You probably know about it but CutomBib has saved my bacon a few times when I've needed to make simple changes to a bst file. More complicated changes like the one you're looking at can usually be worked out with reference to Tame the BeaST. Sorry I can't provide an example of how to do what you want but it has been a while since I had to poke around in a bst file and I've forgotten most of what I used to know.
