Anyone bought from them on the buy now pay later (in this case 12 months) scheme. The only reviews I can find of this service seem to suggest its a con, or they say its approved then try and make you take some other scheme. |

Personally I've never bought on credit, and I don't get involved in company finances if I can help it. Not much help to you I'm afraid.
Why not? I've always found them reliable, decent quality and relatively good value. Their after-sales care is a bit "difficult" at times, but no worse than any other. |

That's pretty much the complete opposite of what I discovered when I tried buying for work. A while ago, admittedly, and we never got so far as unboxing the damn thing; I was so [LIFTED] enervated by the purchasing, then return, process.
Ah, you're charging by the clock cycle. Of course. |

Everyone has had problems with everything, I'm on my third iphone, in the space of a week. Not good. Condisered today as I probably need a fourth to completey sack the damn thing off and get a Nokia or something ghastly. As a fellow MD owner you'll no doubt appreciate old Apple kit was built to last, but looks like then new stuff isn't. |

Anyway, anyone who has successfully done Dell buy now pay later finance would be very welcome in this thread, all I can drum on on the net is the odd horror story. I would also add that the Dell buy online basket and other gubbins is completely (and it seems deliberately) misleading. |

I'd never buy a computer on credit... 0% maybe, if the money was earning decent interest elsewhere...
I've looked after a few hundred Dells and, apart from some non-standard components and, on the consumer versions, loading them full of cruff, they are generally pretty decent machines, nothing special, not the best value for money, but reliable and solid. |

I have a relatively cheap HP right not the 6375B and whilst its not bad, its build shouts 'down to a price' rather than 'outright cheap'. The lid lifts without a catch, and the batter rattles in its housing, which isn't very cool. However an HP Elitebook I looked at was way better, but way more cash. |

Of the four people I know who went Dell (me included) it was nothing but a disaster... Their sales team blatantly lying to you and trying to rip you off, not getting exactly what you ordered, their shocking after sales care (or lack of it), the list goes on, unfortunately ![]() Those were all desktops though, and I'd have thought the laptops were a bit more 'standard' if you know what I mean, but never again IME ![]() |

AHAHAHA what an oxymoron Buy a fast laptop from Dell and by the time it gets to you it will be old tech, seen people wait over a month to get their laptop from Dell. I very much doubt you need that kind of laptop power, as given the weight/heat output it won't be very portable, something like a shuttle seems more suitable as you can fit a hell of a machine in a SFF case now (my SFF case supports up to 12" cards, to even a 5870 would fit if I wanted You're better off getting a BNPL credit from Comet, at least then you get a proper check and can refuse it if needed. (When I worked there it was £15/25 if you paid it off within the interest free period at the end, 10% deposit (or more if you wanted)) |
