Well, for the first time ever, I placed a bet on the Euromillions for this evening.

Anyone else, or am I alone in being the forum idiot?

Best Beloved and I considered it. I think it was the scale of the runner-up prizes.

Then again, I can think of better things to waste my money on which will probably give me a better return on my investment.

Or not.

Nope, and for 2 reasons.

1. I opened 2 fortune cookies that came with our noodles on Tuesday. "Your financial difficulties will soon come to an end." then straight after, "You'll have a big suprise this weekend."

So I was kinda obliged to put a few lucky dips on.

2. At work, 55 of us paid £1.50 each. If we win the lot. I get 2mill.

So. Yeah.

EDIT: I rekon I'll be driving around in a niiiiiiiiiiiiice R8 Spider soon! :D

I buy a ticket when the jackpot gets to a crazy amount. Having just seen how much it is, I will buy a ticket at lunchtime. £110m is still not enough to satisfy Wife016's Tiffany obsession :P

Had my ticket for a while.
Might even buy the forum a new server when I win.

I love the way a lot of us (myself included) won't part with a quid when it's 'only' a couple of million at stake.
'£5million? Nah, too little, what could I do with that. £110 million? Now you're talking.'

That said, I play probably twice a month or something. My Dad's sat down and charted the last 6 months results, for no other reason than to see if it's as random as he thinks it should be.
As far as a tax on the stupid goes, well maybe, but people also pay good money to buy The Sun.

Yep.... Had 5 lucky dips. Got to be in it to win it.

Just thinking though..... £110m is an awful lot of money. I could never spend it and I wouldn't want to leave so much to my kids (sorry Helsing). I think bish has the right idea, lots sharing the huge jackpot.

Having said that I could have an amazing time being philanthropic with that amount of cash.

I've done quite well from the lottery over the years; since it began in late 1994, I've won about £800......

......by saving the quid each week and not playing it!

You stand more chance of being struck by lightning twice, and surviving, than you have of getting 6 winning numbers. I'd rather just keep the stake and be guaranteed a good return on it buy putting it towards a nice cold bottle of Magners thanks very much 8-)
