Seems that Play.com's ordering system is up the swannee. Some people have been receiving emails confirming shipment of stuff they haven't bought, with other folk's details on there!

I've checked my account and emails and nothing out of the ordinary, but I advise that you check yours just in case it turns out that there's been a security breach. Play.com phone lines are jammed apparently

I started ordering Xmas gifts yesterday. With any luck, it's only orders from today that are affected so my details won't have gone to anyone else.

Such a shame as I've used Play for almost a decade with no problems. I don't want this to ruin it for me....

Seeing as Play is pretty much 'HMV-for-net-heads' I thought it was likely that lots of folks here would need to know. Can't hurt to be kept informed if your info might have been shared around without you knowing!

Fortunately it seems that only addresses might have been made available. Plus Play have just started using extra security for transactions. I've had to create a new secure account for my bank at Play.

I just ordered a camera and card today, so we'll see how it goes
