No snow here (although there was yesterday morning) but it's sure icy out.

So icy in face that the water that I'd poured to clear the windscreen of frost had frozen after travelling about a mile down to work. I had to stop and spray deicer and wait for the car to warm up. I have a car windscreen cover but it's a bit pants (lets frost/moisture in from the top and bottom if it moves in the wind).

So "storm Emma" has caused a few problems around the UK, with red "no travel" areas up in Scotland.

Here in the Midlands, there was a flurry of snow starting on Wednesday but barely settling. Temps down to -7.5*C on Wednesday night. A bit of snowfall but lots of wind. The weather also seems less humid than normal so the snow doesn't seem to settle but blow about in the wind.

Suffice to say last night's journey home was fun at 10mph.

This morning, I thought I'd come in seeing as it wasn't too bad. Some of the single carriageway on the way to work was narrowed down to a single lane. There were small snowdrifts blocking one lane. A truck managed to get stuck and needed help to get out of the snow. It meant a 10 minute commute took around 40 minutes.

No one else is here yet. I'll be a bit peeved off if no one else turns up.

Thankfully I don't know how to open the main doors or turn over the telephones so if patients turn up, I won't be able to see them. Unless I get them to use the staff entrance.

Not been out in 2 days, thankfully swimming was cancelled as I didn’t fancy walking on icy pavements with a baby carrier.
My parents are on their way over so we’ll have to see how that goes

We've had -9°C all week here. It snowed most days, but only a couple of centimeters, not enough to cause any disruptions.

My boss had to go down to Munich, where they had -20°C during the day and around -30°C over night. The hotel's heating was having problems coping and the shower was only lukewarm.

At least the trains are still running on time, I don't really want to have to walk 20 minutes to the station and then have to wait around longer than I have to for the train to turn up!

The lowest it's been round here is about -5C according to the temp reading in the car on Wednesday.
There has been snow but it's been relatively little in Peterborough. Surrounding areas have been worse. Not really had any issues getting into work (boo!).
Parents up near Glasgow have had it much worse - well over a foot of snow with drifting. I gather the dog has been enjoying himself though :)

On a snow related issue.
First day of TSA's end of season sale today.
Treated myself to some better snowboard bindings at 20% off.
