Quote:
Fifa's disciplinary committee is believed to be examining the build-up to England's World Cup qualifying game against Scotland at Wembley.

The display of poppies on big screens, the minute's silence, playing the Last Post and handing poppy t-shirts to the crowd could now be assessed.

I don’t normally do football (or much of any sport to be honest), but this seems to be the latest in a line of FIFA displaying levels of idiocy that could only be described as “monolithinc”. I’m sure I heard before the match concerned that they did not see the poppy as a political emblem and were OK with it being worn.
