5 - "solidly middle class" TBH I've never really cared about being middle class. I come from a working class background and tend to see myself as much despite being in a white collar job. |

I got 2. Suppose I could push it up to 3 if I counted having a plug in box to give me some smart TV functions. I do question some of those though - an AGA? Seriously? IN the same list as having a barbeque. There's a fair difference in being able to spend £50 odd on a basic BBQ and being able to drop several thousand pounds on a cooker. I always put an AGA in the 'if you have to ask the price you can't afford it' category of stuff. |

1 here too. So middle class = nouveau riche? I thought it was more about culture than wealth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeah, I really don't get the Aga inclusion in that. No matter what level of finance I had, I'd never be looking at an Aga for a cooker, they're [LIFTED] awful to cook on. Gas hobs all the way in particular. |

Quite. Lets have a cooker we can't actually use during the summer because the house ends up being too hot! Admittedly that is probably a bit out of date now but it was certainly the case when I was a kid - the farm next to where my grandparents lived had a big AGA (coal fired). It spent 6 months of the year off because the house was unlivable during the summer if it was on - they had a separate electric cooker for the summer. Bonkers. |

It's kind of like a corkscrew stroke peeler in a frame - you put veg in it and 'spaghettifies' them (i.e. Makes long strings of whatever veg it is). I have no idea why you'd want to do that. I know you can do courgette spaghetti for gluten intolerant people but surely you'd be better off just making something that isn't some sad version of something they can't eat so probably don't even want. I got one on the quiz. I'm not entirely to sure what middle class is supposed to be these days anyway. |

The idea is to reduce carbohydrate intake by using veg instead of proper spaghetti. Lower carb intake should help lose weight. |

My uncle had an Aga, it was because they lived so far from the main road (driveway was about 4 miles long), in a little farm cottage owned by the farm owner and rented to his workers. Definitely not middle class! It didn't work for me. I clicked on No for the first 3 items and they all turned to "yes" after a few seconds... ![]() But looking at the list, there seem to be a lot of cultural differences between the UK and Germany. Nearly every household has a barbecue - especially students. Wood burning fires stoves are very common here, especially in older, lower class homes that don't have central heating... I have 3 of the items on the list, although we got rid of the wood burning stove when we moved in - it was cast iron and burnt through around 20Kg of wood a day and heated the whole ground floor! The previous owner had a ready source of free fire wood, we didn't, so we threw the behemoth out! I don't even know what a spiralizer, Mulberry bag, Brompton bike or a Nutribullet are. |

It is like the current fad, at least here, of producing meat free "meat" i.e. sausages, salami, sliced cold cuts etc. If you are a vegetarian, why would you want to fool yourself that you are actually eating meat? Why not eat some fresh vegetables instead? Surely it is healthier? |

Thank you for clearing that up. On reflection, I was aware of the idea behind the spiraliser, but had dismissed the gadget out of hand as we own a perfectly good potato peeler. My mum has an oil fired Aga. It runs all the time, costs a fortune in oil and oven temperature is similar to a cup with a leak. But its what she's used to and I think she would score 1 in this quiz. |

I own precisely none of those things. |
