Nike have finally achieved what was shown in BTTF - self-tying laces. Only a year (or so) behind schedule. Can't buy them yet! http://www.techradar.com/news/wearables ... es-1329122 |

I'm aware of the kind of geeky coolness of them, but why would you? If you're over the age of 5, you're getting back a whole five seconds a day, maybe 10 if you change your shoes a lot... |

I find the ridiculous laces that come with 13+ trainers justify it - they come up past my knees and I'm 6 foot 4! |

Yes indeed - In my last lot of Vans I had to tie double bow knots to get the length down to something manageable. |

My trainers come up to my ankles (Nike Air Force 1 high tops). In our new house, the carpets are light grey and hence we take our footwear off in the porch. These trainers don't slip off easily unless I keep the laces loose throughout the shoe. |
