How the UK government is making a successful Brexit difficult

Here is a thought experiment: what would it take, in practice, for a UK government to self-sabotage a “successful” Brexit? And how would that differ from current policy?

TL:DR:

As it stands, however, it is hard to see how even committed Remainers could do more than the current government in sabotaging the UK’s prospect of a successful Brexit.

Bear in mind that 'successful Brexit' is very much in the eye of the beholder.

Oh aye, the swivel-eye pro-brexit loonies will paint the merest status quo as a roaring success. Shouting loudly and ignoring actual facts - that's how it works, no?

Well based on yesterday's results, one effect of Brexit Britain is that the electorate think UKIP should no longer exist as a political entity.

That’s because the Tory UKIP experiment is over, and it’s now being recalled back to the mothership.

Wouldn't be surprised if a few of the UKIP voters switch to the BNP.

There's a difference?

Brexit: Jeremy Corbyn meets EU negotiator Michel Barnier - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-40590295

Remember when he would have been laughed out of town for that? Now he's so confident that it's getting him good headlines.

Brexit: The UK's key repeal bill facing challenges - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-40589510

And that's what May's suggestions box was really all about. The Tories could be looking at another late 90s backlash here. The only thing I'm personally unsure about is if the PLP should be utilised. They're cnuts, there's no doubt, but are they useful cnuts in the upcoming pasting?

Another Brexit Cliffedge

Given that the UK team rolled up without any notes yesterday, I doubt they have thought much about this...

Given that RIPA has been thrown back at the UK as illegal 3 times already by the Human Rights court and the UK Government has driven it through none the less, I don't hold out much hope.

The German's data retention laws have also been nixed at the last minute.

Daily Mail Front Page On Airport Queues Causes Some Confusion

The Daily Mail has sparked confusion and derision after expressing outrage about airport delays within the European Union - despite repeatedly criticising border controls for not being tight enough.

The Mails’ front page on Wednesday declared: “Shambles at EU airports”.

Yes - seems that the EU tightening up on security is inconveniencing those plucky Brits who want to go on holiday. The Daily Mail is a little confused about this.

Add this to “The Will of the People” list.

I think this also makes Ryan Air an official Enemy of The People. As if they actually weren't already.

As for the rest - yes, well, anybody with two brain cells to rub together would have seen this coming if we voted Leave. But then....

Apparently also this is not uncommon occurrence shortly after the end of school term. Queues & etc. happen most years. This year it's the Evil EU out to deprive Plucky Brits of a couple of hours sunbathing time as Brevenge. Last year.. well... Look, a squirrel!

Michael O'Leary was on Newsnight the other day. He’s planning on buying back shares in the company from those owned in the UK because he says there would be a negative impact on his business if it were UK owned after Brexit. So he’s planning on having the majority of shares owned in the EU.

He was also saying that they are like every airline, scheduling a couple of years ahead, so they are looking at 2018/2019 and wondering if they’ll be allowed to fly in the way that they currently do. He thinks it will be unlikely, and this will impact on the routes people seem to like to use.
