Do they honestly expect to get away with that?

The way they've gone about it is monumentally stupid. At the very least they've opened themselves up to a charge of discrimination.
If they wanted to not take advice on Brexit from non-UK citizens then all they would have had to do was ignore any advice recieved and been careful about who they provided information to.
In any case, I also wonder about their apparently paranoid justification about not wanting academics leaking sensitive information about negotiations. Unless they're only going to take advice from pro-Brexit 'experts' I suspect that a lot of people they ask will fall under the apparent liberal elite banner so derided in the campaign. Just because someone is British doesn't mean they might not want to sabotage things to make achieving Brexit harder. And the way this has been approached now and, for that matter, during the campaign hasn't exactly endeared government to the academic community.
I don't necessarily discount the idea that a large section of the electorate didn't pay attention to experts or filtered out anything that didn't reinforce their own point of view but the government shouldn't adopt the same position.
Some one on minimum wage working in a crappy warehouse might not care about some economist banging on about something on the telly because it seem like it has zero relevance to them. They will care however when the downturn in the value of the pound means their job becomes redundant or something.

Less than one euro to the pound at many UK airports

Many travellers buying foreign currency at the UK's airports are now receiving less than one euro to the pound.

The continued fall in sterling's value means that the average rate available at 17 airport bureaux de change is now just 99 euro cents to the pound.

Brexit plan will divide Britain and Ireland once more.
Recall how, on these boards, I spoke about the possibility of a 'hard' border again between Northern Ireland and Ireland, pre EU exit vote?

It is logical. If the UK is not part of the EU, then the border will need to be re-opened.

I know what you meant, but isn't it kind of the opposite of 're opened'? </pedant>

It'll never happen in a meaningful way if they do anything at all.

Yeah, poor wording. The checks and the stations at the crossing points will need to be re-opened, i.e. the border closed. Bleh! I need more coffee!!

A headline from today’s Express.

You have to wonder how some of the mouth breathers who read this will interpret it.

Don't expect Marmite to put on your toast, though.

Any company trying to fleece the consumer ANY FURTHER can fcuk right off. Many item prices had gone up by at least a fifth before Brexit!

It's actually good cover for Tesco though - they'd messed up their supply lines long before this.

Given the fall of the value of the pound and that a lot of goods are imported, it isn't a surprise that prices rise. That said, I would have thought that Marmite, being a traditional English product and not generally available abroad, it would be made in the UK - although it could be that the ingredients need to be imported, in which case a price rise would be justified.

$2b profit, not much, given the number of units sold, compared to Apple, for example.
