https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-44582831This is crunch time. The Brexit lot just can‘t stand around in an cloud of insouciance and say “yeah, things will be fine, don’t worry” any more. They’ve had two years since the vote to come up with something credible.

You know in that story there WAS actually a wolf, right? The people who were foolish were the ones who didn't listen to the boy's warnings because they didn't trust him any more. They got eaten.

| | | | Quote: There once was a shepherd boy who was bored as he sat on the hillside watching the village sheep. To amuse himself he took a great breath and sang out, "Wolf! Wolf! The Wolf is chasing the sheep!"
The villagers came running up the hill to help the boy drive the wolf away. But when they arrived at the top of the hill, they found no wolf. The boy laughed at the sight of their angry faces.
"Don't cry 'wolf', shepherd boy," said the villagers, "when there's no wolf!" They went grumbling back down the hill.
Later, the boy sang out again, "Wolf! Wolf! The wolf is chasing the sheep!" To his naughty delight, he watched the villagers run up the hill to help him drive the wolf away.
When the villagers saw no wolf they sternly said, "Save your frightened song for when there is really something wrong! Don't cry 'wolf' when there is NO wolf!"
But the boy just grinned and watched them go grumbling down the hill once more.
Later, he saw a REAL wolf prowling about his flock. Alarmed, he leaped to his feet and sang out as loudly as he could, "Wolf! Wolf!"
But the villagers thought he was trying to fool them again, and so they didn't come.
At sunset, everyone wondered why the shepherd boy hadn't returned to the village with their sheep. They went up the hill to find the boy. They found him weeping.
"There really was a wolf here! The flock has scattered! I cried out, "Wolf!" Why didn't you come?"
An old man tried to comfort the boy as they walked back to the village.
"We'll help you look for the lost sheep in the morning," he said, putting his arm around the youth, "Nobody believes a liar...even when he is telling the truth!" | | | | |

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-44586638I genuinely am in two minds over this. Part of me says that, yes, we should have a say. Somoene outide of No 10 must be asked the question, and must answer it. Either in Parliament, with a vote of MPs, or to the public. Trusting May and her shower of goons to make the final decision seems idiotic, and too easy for them to bend the deal in favour of thier own political aims and goals. It’s not like Labour are bieng any more use than a chocolate fireguard in this respect. The only party that seems to be providing a decent opposition in this matter is the SNP. The other part of me feels that a vote will only help galvanise the entrenched positions, with the Leave lot spinning this as another way for “the establishment” to “thwart Brexit”, and the end result being that people with racist and otjer extreme views feel more empowered than before, and will send this country down and even uglier path than it is already. If you think that the tabloid headlines have been nasty whenever the Houses of Parliament show a bit of soverignty and require more scrutiny, then I suspect that you ain’t seen nothing yet.

So you're hoping that ports have to shut, planes can't take off or land, the NHS can't get medicines or isotopes and millions of Brits who retired abroad suddenly lose all healthcare? Must be cozy under that rock
