People voted for this mess. They actually, genuinely voted for this. Twice. Once in the referendum, and again when they decided that the Tories were competent and capable of doing this.

They. Voted. For. This. TWICE. We deserve everything we get now.

Unfortunately true.

But at least you can all look forward to being billionaires before long.

The people behind those posters raised around £50,000 - so they can post a lot more of these around the country.

Brexit: Third of UK businesses considering move abroad - survey

Almost a third of UK companies could move operations abroad because of Brexit, a survey has suggested.

Research for the Institute of Directors revealed that 16% already had relocation plans while a further 13% were actively considering doing so.

The IoD said it took "no pleasure" in revealing "these worrying signs".

Facepalm time...

https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/02/0 ... ws_brexit/

Three quarters of government departments and public bodies surveyed still have data in Europe and would be unable to function after a no-deal Brexit...

Quote:
The problem is that, if the UK leaves the bloc without a Withdrawal Agreement in place, transfers from the EU to the UK would have to cease, or carry on, but under new terms.

The impact of this has been discussed at length by those advising politicians, and the government has itself issued a number of notes urging businesses to make arrangements for data flows in a no-deal scenario.
...
One such body named is NHS Blood and Transplant, which has personal data stored in Ireland, and may be unable to access patient information after 29 March.

Quote:
Post-Brexit IT systems not quiiiite ready yet, minister

Meanwhile, officials were said to have been warned that IT systems required for Brexit are facing major delays. This includes work on VAT systems from UK tax body Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC), and an online portal has not yet been implemented.
...
HMRC's permanent secretaries have told MPs repeatedly in the run-up to Brexit that they are facing huge amounts of work, and readily admitted that some systems will just not be ready.

For instance, building the systems for the Northern Ireland backstop could take more than two years, while efforts to replace its outdated customs IT system have been pushed back.

DEFRA is also uncertain, whether its systems will be ready by the end of March or whether there will be bugs and blockers to its release.

Although it seems a bit sinister, the person behind the news systems is Permanent Secretary Moriarty. Maybe we need to send in Holmes and Watson to sort it out.

I'm guessing this will turn up in the UK press shortly...

https://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung ... 97062.html

Leave.eu and Eldon Insurances. Both will have to pay 60,000UKP for data misuse. The ICO has applied a combined fine of 120,000UKP for their data misuse.

Arron Banks founded Leave.EU and is director of Eldon. Eldon is accused of having sent over million emails to Leave.eu subscribers offering insurance.

And in return Leave.EU has allegedly sent over 300,000 Eldon customers campaign regarding. Workers at Leave.EU allegedly had direct access to Eldon's customer data.

The data misuse was discovered during investigations into the Cambridge Analytica scandal last year.

Still waiting for the official letter, but I rang them yesterday and it is approved and sitting on the to-do pile. I should get the confirmation letter next week.

The problem is the British Consulate is inundated with requests at the moment, so it is taking 8-9 weeks instead of 6.
