I’ve been “followed” by someone, and now that person has “added” me to some group. I have no idea who that person is, but clearly TapaTalk has gone beyond just a way to read forums.

Yeah, but I can't find a way to leave the groups I've been added to.

Happened to me on another forum I have in Tapatalk, the "user" wasn't even a registered member of that forum either. I think it's related to the Chat function that was added to Tapatalk earlier this year?

Tapatalk seem to have decided that rather than just being a client app they want to be a sodding social network of themselves. They can sod right off. Especially now (on iOS anyway) it won't even let you access the forums you want to unless you log in with a Tapatalk account, which they then seem to think gives them the right to pull all kinds of tomfoolery.

The app on my phone asked for log on credentials yesterday - which I have clearly forgotten.

I've deleted it. Frankly accessing via a browser is less hassle than using Tapatalk these days, and given 'being less hassle than a browser' is just about the only valid reason for using it in the first place...

Jeez, which browser were you using. Tapatalk these days is slightly less user friendly than IE 5.1...

I use Safari on my iPad all the time and don't have nay problems with it.
The site works fine on the Lumia 950XL as well (so Edge), the only slight irritation is that it's almost impossible to accurately get the little 'last unread post' and similar icons.
