No. I was expecting a popcorn film and got something that fails to do that

Indeed. I'd have gone to a 6 out of 10. There were some nice ideas, I felt.

I consulted my other half who said that I was far too generous with 4 out of 10 and it should be 2 out of 10. This is from someone who loves the Resident Evil and Doom movies.

Maybe there were some nice ideas but they were all from other films. I bought Ultraviolet in a 3 Pack along with Resident Evil 2 and D.O.A: Dead Or Alive which I haven't seen yet. I hope D.O.A. is reasonable....anyone seen it?

There are a large number of moments that I trust will prove to be of significant entertainment :D

Sick Nurses

Now this looked promising. A Thai horror film set in a hospital where an unscrupulous doctor and his posse of hottie nurses have a little sideline in selling bodies and organs on the black market. When one of the nurses, Tahwaan, becomes jealous that the doctor is about to dump her in favour of her sister she threatens to reveal the whole scheme. Bad idea as it turns out as the nurses and the doctor kill her to protect themselves and try to sell her body to the usual black marketeers. Seven days later Tahwaan's ghost returns determined to avenge herself on her murderers.

The premise of the movie was quite a good one but as soon as the ghost is seen it lapses into familiar territory for anyone who has seen such films as The Grudge. After all, how many long-haired apparitions floating through the air with one mad eye glaring out can there be? The nurses are picked off one by one in often gory ways, including a nurse who is forced to rub her face with a handful of scalpel blades (!) but although bloody there's nothing too horrible here. There's some reasonable tension as people are chased around the hospital (which seems to have no patients) trying to survive until midnight when the ghost's power will cease, but the nurses are quite annoying so you're not sorry to see them bumped off.

OK if you've not seen The Grudge, etc, but otherwise there are better Asian Horror films out there.

5 out of 10.

Oh, make sure you stick around for the end credits where you get to see the Sick Nurses running around at the seaside and playing beach volleyball for no reason whatsoever! 8-)

Things are about to get a bit sicker for this Sick Nurse!

I managed half of it. That's most unusual for me, I almost always sit through the entire movie. I believe you should watch all of it, if you're planning to give it a good slagging.

I even sat through Aeon Flux. Mind you, that was probably just for the eye candy.

Only just watched AVP requiem, it was bit of a let down. Although, I did enjoy the scene where Pred accidentally kills the bit of totty in the hospital, with his big throwing star thingamy. That was brill, it reminded me of rag-dolling Combine soldiers in HL2 with the crossbow. :D

Has anyone been to see District 9? Looks great but haven't had the chance to get out and see it.

I thought that looked good as well, I've heard good reviews, but no plans to see it at the movies. I'd love to, but there's just no funding at the moment.
