It's OK, he can't believe he gets away with it either ;)

My only real issue is going to bed too early, always been a night owl. But everybody gets those 'Why did I wake up at half four?!' nights.

Anybody got real problems with sleeping? Think anything on that catch-all list will help? ;)

Showering before bed works for me.
I noticed this when I was about 22 (weirdly specific age, right?).
I still prefer to do this even now when I can.

My body seems to have decided it likes about 6 hours of sleep so there's little point going to bed before midnight. If I go to bed early I usually wake up however earlier I went to bed offset from when I normally wake up. This can be rather annoying, especially at the weekend.

I find going to bed and closing my eyes means I go to sleep ;)

In mediaeval times, it was common not to sleep in a solid block during the night. People would wake in the middle of the night, pray, eat, read (if they were able to), have sex, and then go back to bed for a second time.

I have CFS - very mildly in comparison with other people I know who have it, but it can ruin the sleep patterns at times.

Where did you get that from?

I read an article on the BBC website about this but later read from another source (that I cannot recall) that this only occurred sometimes and wasn't particularly common.

I find that reading guides on how to get a good night's kip will send me off to sleep in no time.

One thing I remember from the late 1990s, when insomnia was an almost daily event, I had the radio on and there was someone saying that if you tapped the top of your head with your fingers a lot in bed that when you stop, your brain decides that it’s all suddenly very peaceful and will make getting to sleep easier. It never seemed to work for me.

Was that under the definition of gullible?

Interestingly, I couldn't sleep last night. Was awake until around 1am, then slept until about 530am.
