Twas all very spur of the moment - I spotted this while I was bringing the bin round from the front of the house IIRC. Handheld I was about as close as I could get and the camera still focus plus the spider and ant were swinging about a bit so getting a sharp, in focus shot was tricky. That was the best of the ones I took where you could see both the ant and the spider. I did get a few sharper ones but the spider was hiding round the back of the ant from the lens - very inconsiderate. The spider seemed to decide the job was done and buggered off into the fence shortly afterwards. I should really invest in a macro lens or something that can focus a bit closer as I quite like shooting insects (if they'll stay in the same place for long enough). |

I find a Raynox DCR-250 gives better results than I expect it to for the money. DOF can be tricky mind you. |
