As the show will be starting again in a couple of months, I thought it best to create a new thread for the new season.
Also, S10 has been slyly confirmed.

I'm trying very hard to avoid the upcoming season trailer that has just been released.
But for those that want to view it ... clicky here.

It’s getting harder to avoid as the BBC is keen to throw things everywhere and anywhere now. I used to enjoy the teasers in the build up to series 1 of the new era, but those tended to be rather subtle shots of the backs of set flats and props. Now, I think they want to head off any story leaks at the pass, and keep the gossip rags and bloggers happy.

Still, if Moffat is playing the same game as he has done in the past, what we see is very much open to interpretation until the big reveal at the end of the last episode.

I haven't avoided all information regarding the new season, I know of returning characters and what-not, but I'm trying to limit my exposure to such material these days, and not just for this show, but I'm also applying it to films as well, and believe me, avoiding all the info for the upcoming Star Wars films is bloody tough!

It'd be quite funny to see her do 'eccentric'. Maybe even 'not normal' ;)

New companion by seasons end?
The show was gearing up last year to say goodbye to the character, it seems we'll have to go through all that again this year.

Bloody Christ bloody Evans and his fat mouth blurting out this on the radio yesterday. I've been trying to avoid spoilers, but there you go.

Ep1 had one of the very best pre-title sequences of any episode of this show so far.
That was outstanding drama.

I haven't seen it but I read that viewing figures are well down. TBH, I haven't seen any of Capaldi's episodes, but I've heard one or people whinge about it.

I thought it was a rollicking good start to the series.
Managed to work out which planet is was within the first 30 seconds or so and the identity of the kid was obvious after that.
Still, awesome. Roll on espisod 2.

Also, looks like they'd salvaged or rebuilt a number of classic DALEK designs including the Special Weapon DALEK.

Some of the Dalek props are either privately owned or dragged in from various exhibitions. Oddly, though , none from the Genesis of the Daleks which would have been quite the thing to have. Love the reference to one of my favourite moments from Genesis... too.

A good start for Capaldi's second series. Yes, it was a bit lumpy in places, but it really was a great episode.
