Behold, dear reader, a plan of NCC 1701-D’s bridge.

Image

Your attention is drawn to the bottom right where you will see
a) A turbo lift door

b) The captain’s ready room door.

Both doors are very close, and both would be, I guess, within the sensor range of each other. When someone goes to the Ready Room, that door opens. If someone approaches the turbo lift door, that one opens. Thing is, until you are pretty much nose-touching the door, the options of which door to open is pretty much up to speculation.

So how come the correct door always opens? Shouldn't both open? I’ve been watching TNG on SyFy recently and this has started to bother me.

Well, damn that 30 year old fictional TV show for not being ultra-realistic! :P

I just assumed the computer knew where they were going from body language (on TNG, I've not watched STD yet).

What’s this? A possible Tarantino Trek film?
http://www.darkhorizons.com/tarantino-a ... star-trek/

Quote:
Deadline reports that Tarantino has come up with an idea for a “Star Trek” film that, after sharing his idea with JJ Abrams, is leading to the assembly of a writers room of scribes at Paramount Pictures who’ll hear Tarantino’s take and begin to put together a movie. If it works out, Tarantino might direct and Abrams would produce the film.

Well that'll be bloody and sweary then. Neither of which fits terribly well with Trek tbh. Mind you 'fitting in with the rest of trek' doesn't seem to be terribly high on the priority list any more so why not.

I’ve heard him talking about possible Trek stories in the past. It might not be bloody and sweary (mind you, they swear in ST:Disco from what I’ve been told), but I would expect a pretty decent story out of him, and some very close up studies of weapons.

Figured I'd post this here:

Patrick Stewart is coming back as Picard. Whilst I loved him in that role, I can't help but think this is more for money than genuine desire to bring back this character.

Hmm - trademarks being renewed. Possibly. What will the TV show do that hasn’t been covered in TNG? The only thing I can think of is Picard reconciling his regrets at not accepting Wesley as his son, and facing a resulting massive legal bill that he can only pay by selling antiques out of whatever the Star Trek equivalent of a Morris Tourer is.

Marina Sirtis in a pre-Star Trek: TNG role. Up the Elephant and Round the Castle was a vehicle for Jim Davidson and his “cheeky cockney” comedy.

Whoever uploaded this has done something to the picture. It‘s been squashed horizontally, so it’s badly distorted.
