My initial concern from the headline was about how one would actually trust a company that makes money from data mining and advertising to provide genuine obscurity, but as far as I can see Facebook still get all their data, it's just everyone else that won't. |

Yes, it isn't so much about providing you with the option of obscurity, more about giving them exclusivity. It suddenly makes the data they hold a far more valuable commodity. |

I don't use Facebook apps anymore. They kept wanting more and more permissions for things they didn't need to work. |
