Who knows what it is without googling it? Is it a thing up there, or not really?

Aperol was created in Italy in 1919. Its low alcohol content, distinctive orange hue and complex bitter-sweet notes, lent to it by its orange and rhubarb-root ingredients, meant it immediately found its way into the hearts of locals.
Come the summer of 1950: the traditional serve of Venetian white wine and soda evolved to become 3 parts Prosecco, 2 parts Aperol and 1 dash of soda. Served over ice and finished with a slice of orange, Aperol Spritz is the perfect companion to a summer’s day.
Today Aperol is the No.1 aperitif in Italy, and recently won double gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Championships.

Or something like that - I can't really remember all that well without googling...

I have tried it, they are pushing it very hard at the moment, you may as well put a splash of Robinsons into your Prosecco,

It is popular here in Germany as well - we have a large immigrant Italian population.

So no, in other words, it's not a thing up there.

Leeds, where are you at the moment?

Speaking of Italian booze (apart from the Limoncello in my freezer) I was baking a recipe recently that called for Liquore Strega. I left it out.

Chris, does the YMCA still have the climbing walls?
I spent a lot of my early 20's in there clambering about on those walls.

Dunno, didn't even know there was a YMCA, I just ride my bike around Pleasington and avoid most of the rest of Mordor.

The bottom of Sheer Bank Road, near to Corporation Park.
It used to be a really good, diverse little set of climbing rooms.

I live on Addison Street (opposite Corporation Park), just off Preston New Road, I don't think that's there any more. I don't think there's much call for anything Christian around here these days ;)
