I am on a four day week. Granted, those are 12hr shifts I'm doing, but it's still a four day week. Mark |

Four night week surely ![]() I'd like to do 4 days, but i think I would end up doing just as much work but paid less. Currently average 1.5hrs unpaid overtime everyday Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yep, and given that I've yet to take a holiday in the last 4 years, where the company hasn't called me to do some task, and often get called at the weekend to help sort something out - usually contacting the security company to let people into the building - I don't think I'd get much out of the extra day free. My fiancé was on a 12 days on, 2 days off shift pattern for the last 4 years. |

20% pay cut for 20% less work seems fair. Could people afford that? I doubt it. 0% pay cut for 20% less work. Could businesses afford that? I doubt it. |

Try this out for an interesting take on capitalism: http://t.co/kQRvbbrlgr The problem with a four day week is that there's no politcal (or more importantly - corporate) will to do anything. |

Your welcome. Blew my mind when I read it. In the coming years, there are a lot of challenges we need to look at as a civilization. There are also likely to be many solutions that whilst making sense, will require a critical mass that simply isn't forthcoming. A $15 minimum wage is certainly one of those, in my opinion. |

Dont forget that you wont actually lose 20% take home income as you lose the top 20% at your top marginla tax rate so in reality esp if you are a 40% tax payer you only lose about 12% of take home income |

Interesting, perhaps. Ignorant and self defeating though. You should be able to spot this from the fact that he claims there are "no counter examples. None." And then he cites one. That is a giveaway that you are not dealing with a competent theorist. There are of course many counterexamples. It shouldn't take a great deal of sense to work out that if capitalism has mechanisms that drive increasing income disparities, those are likely to be offset against other mechanisms that counter it on a cyclical basis. If peasant rebellions and plutocratic self-denial are the only such mechanisms he can think of, he missed a lot of history lessons. |
