Cameo spoilers below...

Quote:
We know that Warner Bros Pictures is way behind Marvel Studios when it comes to making movies out of its comic book properties. But I have intel on what is coming up at this July’s Comic-Con from the studio. A lot of stuff remains in flux but my sources have so far:

May 2016 – Batman v Superman
July 2016 – Shazam
Xmas 2016 – Sandman
May 2017 – Justice League
July 2017 – Wonder Woman
Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up
May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2

There had been talk of a Metal Men and Suicide Squad movie for sometime in 2016 but that project fell off the schedule.

GreenLanternRyanMeanwhile, if you were wondering why Batman v Superman was delayed, it wasn’t the script or Ben Affleck or Jesse Eisenberg but with the fact that this pic will act as a launching pad for the Justice League. According to my source, “Like Marvel’s The Avengers, there will be cameos of superheroes for future installments. The cameos will include the already known Cyborg and Flash. Green Lantern [not played by Ryan Reynolds, thank god] may be introduced. And Aquaman will be seen in the Justice League movie. Problem is, Warner Bros Pictures was still negotiating with the actors for those cameos and future roles, meaning major contracts for multiple JL/character films to follow. The studio didn’t want to move forward until they had more of this secure so they held off starting production for a few months. Seemingly simple reason, but the implications are pretty darn huge.”

They must be incredibly dependent on BvS doing well, and I'd expect Shazam at least to be loaded with cameos for Justice League and Wonder Woman if they ever get that far. Definitely didn't see the Flash/GL team-up coming  , it smells of desperation at this very early juncture.

*Jack* And where is The Batman? *Jack*

Which of the above list are folks here interested in, if any?

Random thought; Shazam could actually be family-friendly if they wanted to go that way. I'm not that interested in the character at all, but I'm curious as to how they'd handle the film.

Sandman's a tough sell no matter how you tackle it. I'm surprised it's anywhere near their 'phase 1'.

Wonder Woman, same as Shazam, though I'd love to have a female superhero break the movie mould too. I was actually wondering if they'd ever attempt Supergirl again if they got traction with these movies.

Flash/GL, my first thought is that could be a ridiculously expensive film! And likely more of a comedy. Which usually suck :( , but who knows?

It seems EVERYTHING will be filmed back to back going by the release dates

That film is so in need of a remake I'm very surprised it hasn't made the rumour rounds yet.

My off-the-cuff prediction - a mention in MoS2, if not a cameo, depending on the success of the standalone Wonder Woman movie.

This is going to be quite a difficult task for DC. While WW is very recognisable to the general public, you'd be hard pressed to find many people who know anything much about her. Batman has enemies like the Joker, the Riddler, etc; Superman has Lex Luthor, Brainiac, General Zod, etc, who is there for Wonder Woman? How many people would be able to name any of her supporting cast? I'm sure there's a great demand for a Wonder Woman movie but it's going to be difficult (I would have thought) to come up with an engaging script to hang all the special effects sequences on. I hope they manage it even though I'm becoming tired of superhero movies.

I agree, they'd have to play up the whole family of legend/island of female warriors angle and make it interesting, which would be costly. Other than that you've got Steve Trevor... Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if he crash lands on the island and what we get is a load of flashbacks.

Ooh, wait, wasn't she basically the female Clark Kent/Superman at one point? That'd be a good angle and could tie into the other films.

It comes down to how much exposure she gets in BvS I suppose, they're gonna have to figure out a way to have her suddenly appear in Gotham/Metropolis.

Not necessarily.
That can wait for her own film. The character just needs to make a positive impact and then any backstory can be filled in.

I'm going by the above time frame; she'll appear in Justice League before her own film, which makes me think she'll need a reasonable-sized role in BvS as a set-up for Justice League. Say, Black Widow in Iron Man 2-scale.

It may be what is above, but if so at least we'll get some sort of rationale regarding the releases and timeframe, then we can start getting all excited and speculative. (8+)

I don't really care either way  , I'm just idly speculating while the TV's on in the background here :)
