Probably the best looking sci-fi movie we never got.

Giger, Dali, Moebius...

Anyho, there’s a documentary about it. The trailer shows some incredible artwork, and it’s still a shame that it was never made.

Watch the trailer:

pretty cool.
I love Dune, it's the first book I remember reading on my own.
I wonder if it exists as a kindle boxset?

I love Dune. I have read the complete series in English about 8 times, in German 3 times and I have it as German audio books (the last 2 I also have in English, as they only came out in German last year.

You can definitely see some of Geigers inspiration for Alien coming out of that.

In related news, Children of Dune (the one with James McAvoy in it) is showing on Pick TV tonight (part 1 of 4) apparently.

It‘s partly that which got Scott interested in using home for Alien. You’ll also notice some of it cropping up in Prometheus.

That’s Freeview, so I can PVR it for later on my Mac mini. Parts 1&2 tonight, 3&4 next Tuesday.

Having seen some of Game of Thrones, it is obvious to me that there are some people able to adapt lengthy works into credible TV series. Dune can be done as a TV series, as long as it’s handled in a similar fashion, I think.
