Interesting little site featuring a couple of questions to people in the tech / arts / creative industries on what they use:

http://usesthis.com/

Found this remarkably fascinating (not least because I had the idea to do something similar a short while ago)

It has been a regular feature of the MacFormat magazine for ages. https://twitter.com/MacFormat/status/164661452228136962 and http://macformat.techradar.com/blog/iummf/

True but I find them a bit inconsequential. I'd much rather the section was 'things I use my Mac for' - which is actually what it is. If some guy is using a Mac to look for evidence of early life in vent flumes under the atlantic, that's what i want to read about, The fact he's got an iPad that sits on the left of his iMac? Not so much.

The other thing is that most people probably cannot tell anyone what they do for confidentiality reasons so it does restrict what they can say.

MacUser do the same thing (or they used to until recently) but they also have a good section called Praktik which features a lot of real world Mac usage.
