I've been quite a few times this year with all the blockbusters (hopefully going to see Thor 2), but those are the only reason I have for going really. Even then I only go because someone's liable to tell me all about the film before the disc release!

The actual cinema experience means nothing to me now - I'd probably be happier at home with my headphones on to be honest. At least if I'm left deaf it'll be my fault then, plus I can drink if the notion takes me lol.

Anyway, the cinema, do you really bother any more?

I very rarely go to the cinema. The last film I saw at the cinema was Prometheus.

Rarely. The last time was when a friend wanted to go see The Avengers but didn't want to go on his own so I tagged along as a favour. The last film I went to see because I really wanted to see the film and couldn't wait for the DVD was Senna. I'm considering going to see Gravity at the cinema though, strikes me as a film that benefits from a big screen.

The last time I went was to see Avatar.

Edit: No, it was 13 Assassins.

These days on average once a year. The last film I went to see was "Rush". There's nothing coming up that I can see being worth while.

Back in the 80s I used to go at least once a week, but then there were three mainstream cinemas and 2 arthouse screens here in Nottingham so there was a massive selection of films both old and new to be seen. Now it all seems to be bigger louder and more motion-sickness inducing "special" effects and the story telling seems to be a long way down the order of priorities. I'd rather watch a good TV series where plots and characterisation is allowed to develop slowly over the course of several episodes or even season rather than having to try to cram it all into a couple of hours.

I like to go to the cinema as often as I can.
Working nights and staying in night shift mode while off work sort of stops me from going, because I don't want to sit in a packed screen with screaming kids* that are hyperactive and can't keep quiet and can't put down their mobile phones for the duration of the film and sometimes even make/take calls during the films.
I think this year I've been to the cinema about a dozen times.
Most often on a Sunday afternoon when I know the screening is likely to be near empty.

Last film I went to see was Le Week-end.

If there's a load of stuff on that my brother and I consider worth the effort then it can be once a week but that's become increasingly rare.
Having said that, went last Sunday to see Bad Grandpa. Several other things I want to see on at the moment so could be going again this Sunday.
We only go regularly because we've both got discount cards for the local cinema (effectively 40 - 50% off the regular price). At full price, not bothered.

Never unless forced.

Cinemas are genuinely one of the worst places to try to watch a film IMO. Crap sound, crap picture, uncomfortable seats, noisy food, sticky floors, mobile phones and, most importantly, other people. And that's before you get near the crap films...

Watching a film is not, repeat NOT, a social activity. I need to concentrate so will everyone please just bugger off!?

I remember going to the cinema. That would be in the good old days before I had to worry about stuff like babysitters

At one point, I'd go on a monthly basis. Nowadays, it's really only to see the latest blockbuster and even then it's only a few. This year, all I've watched at the cinema are: IM3, MoS, and The Wolverine. I doubt there's anything else that would be compelling to watch at the cinema.

Yeah, saw all those and Pacific Rim and Machete 2 - IM3 was the only one I didn't pay for and the only one I could honestly say is worth two hours of your time!

The total cost of a trip to the cinema is now so high and comes with so many d1ckheads that I'd love to say I could give it up completely...

With The Wolverine, there were lots of kids which really annoyed me. I can't recall which film, but I once paid for Gold Class at The Vue and it wasn't worth it.
