"A Certain Fractal Light" album by In Isolation. I've recently become their bass player for when they gig and I'm working my way through learning their back catalogue.

That's pretty good stuff. I've listened to a few tracks and particularly like 'Not Noticing.'

Sabbat: History of a time to come.

Just so I can hear one of my favourite verses roared out:

Quote:
Then in a mighty flash of light
before thee Mephistopheles appears.

[FAUSTUS:]
"I charge thee go and change thy shape,
for you fill my soul with fear.
Now swift-as-hell back to the fire
return an old Franciscan Friar."

[MEPHISTOPHELES:]
"Mortal command me while you can,
For surely thou art damned."

Hard to believe this album is now 30 years old.

Hello, stranger!

I was just thinking about some of the people who have come and gone round this place.

I hadn't realised this place was still here...mostly on Twitter these days. Good to see not much has changed around here though!

I'm on Twitter a lot too.

Everybody breezes through once in a while. My new puppy is taking up all my time though!

I really need to get this on CD or download it - I still have it on vinyl but haven't had a turntable in over 20 years.

I remember seeing them at Sheffield students union with Xentrix - they were bloody good, despite their guitarist quitting the band just before they took the stage. It was a weird night for guitarists, because Xentrix' singer guitarist, Chris Astley, announced that he had managed to drill a hole in his finger during a bizarre diy mishap earlier that day.

I liked Xentrix too. Did you ever get into Skyclad? I'm listening to some at the moment and though some of the folk aspects are hard to take at times, Walkyier holds the whole lot together well but It does take a bit of getting used to. Since the time of Sabbat, only Cradle of Filth's lyrics come close to Walkyier's.

Xentrix is another band I only have on vinyl.

I'm not aware of Skyclad, I'll dig some up and give it a listen. Couldn't really get into CoF though, they were a touch too theatrical for me.
